Candied Pecans

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Melt Butter:
In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add Pecans:
Add the pecans to the skillet, stirring to coat them evenly with the melted butter.
  3. Add Sugar and Cinnamon:
Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon (if using) over the pecans. Stir constantly for 3-5 minutes, allowing the sugar to melt and caramelize around the pecans.
  4. Remove from Heat:
Once the pecans are evenly coated and fragrant, transfer them to a piece of parchment paper or a plate to cool. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the pecans for a sweet-salty flavor balance.
  5. Cool and Serve:
Allow the pecans to cool completely. Once cooled, they’ll be crunchy and ready to enjoy!

Tip: You can enjoy these candied pecans as a snack, sprinkle them over salads, or use them as a topping for desserts like ice cream or yogurt.
